FieldJoint Coating (FJC)

Protecting Pipes
purpose
Designed to provide a coherent internal anticorrosion coating protection for pipelines
WSCprovides comprehensive Internal and External Field Joint Coating (FJC)solutions designed to protect critical weld areas in pipeline systems. Thesejoints, being the most vulnerable points in a pipeline, require precise andhigh-quality coating application to ensure long-term integrity.
Leveraging a combination of advancedrobotic systems and skilled manual application techniques, WSC deliversconsistent, high-performance coating solutions across a wide range of pipelineconfigurations.
Robotic systemsare utilized for straight pipeline sections to ensure uniform coating thicknessand productivity, while manual and semi-manual methods are applied for complexareas such as bends, spools, short lengths, elbows, and flange connections.
To ensureoptimal coating performance, WSC integrates internal girth weld grinding aspart of the FJC process. Weld irregularities such as excessive root height, misalignment, and surface defects are inspected and rectified using automatedgrinding systems, providing a smooth internal profile and ideal surfacecondition for coating application.
WSC’sFJC capabilities cover multiple coating applications including Fusion BondedEpoxy (FBE), Liquid Epoxy, Polyethylene ensuring compatibility with projectspecifications and international standards. Each application is supported bystrict quality control procedures, inspection protocols, and adherence toclient requirements.
